Stag’s Leap – 2011 Petite Sirah

The cooler 2011 vintage yielded an elegant Petite Sirah, scented with the varietal’s signature trio of black fruit, floral and spicy characteristics. Fresh, juicy flavors of blackberry and blueberry are complemented by generous spice notes of clove and pepper with a subtle hint of rose petal. Refined and supple tannins balance the wine’s powerful palate, keeping this Petite Sirah particularly graceful.

Pasqua – Villa Borghetti Valpolicella

Ruby-red, with lovely fresh perfumes of currants, blackberry and wild cherries and hints of spices and vanilla. On the palate it is well balanced with a long, tasty finish. This Valpolicella is obtained from a blend of the native Italian grape varietals Corvina, Rondinella and Corvione. Ideal with risotto, Carpaccio and veal or beef stew.

This elegant stout is our biggest & boldest brew yet. Dead Frog – Fuggles & Warlock Shiva Session White IPA

Dead Frog Brewery is pleased to announce the release of “Hyper Combo” Red Rye IPA, the first in a series of collaboration beers with Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks of Richmond, BC. This is the first time Dead Frog has collaborated with another craft brewer to produce a beer.

The beer’s name and label are a fighting video game parody. A “combo” is a combination attack involving a string of sequential normal attacks. A “hyper combo” is a more powerful special move consisting of a chain of combos.

Freigeist Abraxxxas – Smoked Lichtenhainer Weisse

Inspired by the rare and nearly-extinct eastern German tart wheat beer once known as “Lichtenhainer”, Abraxxxas is sour and complex, with a balancing smoky maltiness. As freakily drinkable as it is challenging, this ale was deemed an instant classic upon it’s release in the U.S.

Mission Springs Fraser Valley IPA

"From Mission BC’s Mission Springs Brewing comes their “Fraser Valley IPA” a beer brewed with hops grown in the Fraser Valley.  The beer pours a copper colour with a creamy white head.  The aroma consists of floral hops, malty, fruits and not much else.  The flavour is of caramel malts, some fruits including citrus, big hops bitterness, pine and resin.  The alcohol content comes in at 6.6% with an IBU of 67.  This was very refreshing on tap at the brewery and I look forward to more pints of this in the future." -mikescraftbeer.com

Mission Springs McLennan's Scotch Ale

"Pours dark ruby/brown with a tawny head that lasts & lasts. At 8% ABV, this Wee Heavy ale is chock full of toffee-caramels and smokey-leathery undertones. Hints of tobacco, burnt sugar & roasted malts can be found throughout. Incredibly smooth with just enough hop presence to provide a wonderfully balanced ale." -canadianbeernews.com

Mission Springs Cherry Bomb Pale Ale

The Cherry Bomb Pale ale is a copper coloured ale that wears a hat of head two fingers thick which laces the glass long after settling. With cherries on the ingredients list it is no surprise that a dark cherry sweetness comes through strong alongside a Belgian wheat smell and a touch of sourness. The flavour is creamier than expected with a well malted body. The cherry notes do not overpower the beer but add a slight sweet & sour tone to the taste.” –beermebc.com

Mission Springs Fat Guy Oatmeal Stout

“The Mission Spring Brewing Company has released an Oatmeal Stout called the Fat Guy and it is a close to black in colour beer. The head is around a finger’s thickness and off white in colour. The smells are of a hearty and thick beer with notes of chocolate and toasted malt. The taste is quite light and almost airy in texture. The flavour is still dark and stout-esque but the overall feeling is rather light on the tongue. A minute amount of hop joins the dark, lightly toasted, chocolatey flavour for a drinkable, enjoyable and rather mellow Oatmeal Stout. Lighter than most in flavour and a mellow 4.5% ABV this may not pluck the strings of the thrill-seeking craft beer connoisseur but it is a very easy drinking, mellow and rather nice tasting Oatmeal Stout.” –beermebc.com

Hopworks Urban Brewery Organic IPA

“Our flagship IPA is a classic Northwest IPA that is generously hopped with Amarillo, Centennial, and Ahtanum hops in the kettle, hop-back, and dry-hop. This judicious use of hops is balanced by hte finest organic malts available, namely Canadian organic Pilsner malt and German organic Munich and Caramunich. 15 degrees Plato Original Gravity 2.7 degrees Plato Terminal Gravity 6.6% Alcohol by Volume 75 International Bitterness Units” –ratebeer.com

Stone Brewing IPA

“By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale – and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.” –stonebrewing.com

Stone Brewing Smoked Porter

“When first released, our smoky version of a traditional English porter was ahead of its time. Today, it’s a highly regarded staple among craft beer fans and our go-to food complement; pairing effortlessly with all kinds of cuisine, from peanut butter and banana sandwiches to braised pork belly to apple pie. This worldly libation is dark, smooth, and complex, with rich chocolate and coffee flavors suffused with subtle smokiness from the addition of peat-smoked malt.” –stonebrewing.com

The Commons Brewery – Fleur de Ferme

“Fleur de Ferme is the perfect combination of sunshine and darkness and it’s now available in BC! Hibiscus, lavender and chamomile are added at the end of the boil to produce a floral/herbal experience in this dark farmhouse ale. The subtle dark malt flavours and the silky full body from the spelt complement and support the flowers; while the Saison yeast adds a spicy, citrus-y complexity to the beer.” -beerthirst.com

Double Mountain – Fa La La La La Winter Ale

“This year’s Fa continues with bags full of Matt’s favorite hop, Centennials, to warm your heart and soul. It’s like a sweater for your insides! Brewed with Gambrinus Pilsner malt and a dash of crystal malts, this brew has a voluptuous malt bill to harmonize with the wealth of hops.” – doublemountainbrewery.com

HUB Motherland Russian Imperial Stout

“Motherland Russian Imperial Stout is rich and smooth and HUB states that this beer “is as black as a Siberian winter night but warming enough to weather it. Bittersweet chocolate flavors mingle with deep fig and plum fruitiness and it finishes with a lingering spiciness and heat.” –canadiancraftbeerenthusiast.com

 Worthy Brewing – Powder Keg

“The Powder Keg’s big without being heavy. We pack this puppy with an explosive amount of pure grade, highly volatile lupulin yellow cake, distilled from the ooziest of the oiliest Big C’s - - Centennial, Cascade, Chinook and Columbus. With a combustible quartet like that you’re thinking mushroom cloud but somehow, someway Master Brewer Chad has found a way to smarten the bomb so it empowers without overpowering.” –ratebeer.com

Coronado Brewing Co. – Blue Bridge Coffee Stout

“Just as the iconic Coronado Bay Bridge connects our island home to the mainland, this java-tinged dry stout, brewed using dark roasted coffee beans from a local San Diego artisanal roaster, provides a bridge uniting craft beer drinkers with CBC’s rich, flavorful SoCal brewing traditions.”   –coronadobrewingcompany.com

Bridge Brewing – Black rye IPA

“This dark twist on the IPA style also brings rye into the equation for what is surely a dark and spicy, well hopped brew. The beer emerges from the bottle as a thick, pitch black colour topped with three full fingers of dense, thick and heavily lacing head. The Black Rye smells of chocolate malts and a northwest, style piney hop.”                  -beermebc.com

Rogue Ales – Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout

“This may well be my favorite bottled beer of all time; deeply roasted and creamy, with tantalizing bitterness; thick, smooth, and attractive; deeply satisfying.”                – Bob Klein, The Beer Lovers Rating Guide

Oskar Blues – Ten Fidy Imperial Stout

This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. Ten FIDY (10.5% ABV) is made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY is the ultimate celebration of dark malts and boundary-stretching beer. –ratebeer.com

Elysian – Split Shot Espresso Milk Stout

Beer and coffee are Seattle siblings, jealously dividing the day. Split Shot combines the talents of Elysian’s brewers with a pound per barrel of cold-infused, Seattle-produced Lighthouse coffee. It’ll open your eyes to a delicious new beer. Split Shot is the official beer of 2012 Seattle Beer Week. -ratebeer.com

Lagunitas – A Little Sumpin’ Extra! Ale

Lots of wheat for a curious malt complexity and leaving it light in color, but huge in flavor and satisfaction
Net contents: Ounces and ounces of Malt, Hops, Yeast and water. –ratebeer.com

 UV – Sriracha Vodka

Officially notated as a “chili pepper flavored vodka” made with all-natural flavors, the spirit really looks the part, bottled in imitation of the iconic condiment, packaged in a red bottle with a green stopper. The nose is surprisingly engaging — lightly spicy, with notes of tomato juice, olives, pickles, and — oddly — fresh lettuce. On the palate, sweetness arrives (much like in actual sriracha) to balance an initial rush of heat.  –drinkhacker.com

 Death’s Door Gin

Death's Door Gin has a surprisingly simple botanical mix of juniper berries, coriander and fennel. Using juniper berries that grow wild on Washington Island with coriander and fennel sourced from within the state, Death's Door Spirits is able to showcase how complementary and complex simple expressions can be. –deathsdoorspirits.com

 Stolichnaya – Elit

Elit by Stolichnaya stands tall amongst its peers. And year after year, critics agree. The Beverage Tasting Institute has also awarded Elit gold medals for its exceptional purity and character. –elitbystoli.com

 Dalmore – The 12

Matured for an initial nine years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being carefully divided.  Dalmore – Cigar Malt Reserve

The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve benefits from a judicious selection of aged stocks drawn from casks of three types: American white oak ex-bourbon casks, 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts and premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques. –thedalmore.com
